Progress on the Deltaport Third Berth Project (DP3) is going well as work continues on the marine works portion of the project. Port Metro Vancouver is responsible for the marine works construction for DP3. The marine works mainly involve the creation of the land and berth structures, including the new tug basin that is already in operation. The terminal operator, TSI Terminal Systems Inc., is responsible for the installation of terminal infrastructure such as drainage, water, paving and lighting. The new berth is on schedule to be operational in the autumn of 2009. As areas of the landfill are completed and preloads removed, Port Metro Vancouver is turning over the areas to the terminal operator. TSI recently awarded its first contract for the installation of underground services on the first area handed over by Port Metro Vancouver.
