Former Port of Portland veteran Eileen Murche was named Vice President for Business Development at Red Arrow Logistics, the logistics and transportation company that serves fast growing, complex and high value supply chains. Charged with growing and supporting the company’s customer footprint at an executive level in the Pacific Northwest and around the country, Murche began her Portland, Ore.-based role on March 10, 2014. An expert in trade, transportation, warehousing and distribution, Murche has spent the past 16 years at the Port of Portland, where she held senior management positions in carrier and cargo development, import and trade development, and most recently in real estate marketing and business and economic development. She was responsible for the retention, expansion and recruitment of international and domestic targeted industry clusters in collaboration with city, state and regional economic development agencies. "We recognize the value of the Oregon market and wanted to establish a strong presence in the community,” said Liz Lasater, CEO of Red Arrow Logistics. “Eileen brings an impressive track record from the Port of Portland and has deep relationships with stakeholders in the Oregon economy. She will combine her talents and Red Arrow’s model of service excellence to this key logistics market.” Prior to joining the Port of Portland in 1997, Murche served in sales and marketing roles with Matson Navigation and American President Lines. She has received industry recognition for her work, including four awards from the American Association of Port Authorities for creative cargo and carrier marketing campaigns that she developed with her team. Murche has also been named one of the 10 most influential female logistics executives in North America by Logistics Quarterly Magazine. “Joining Red Arrow Logistics marks a return to my logistics roots to utilize my past experience to create solutions that improve operational efficiencies and reduce cycle times to help customers meet their business objectives,” said Murche. “I look forward to building long-term strategic relationships with Red Arrow’s current and future clients and business partners.”
