Over 19.7 million pounds of cargo moved through Rickenbacker in April for a 12.5% increase compared to April 2005 activity.

Year-to-date over 74.4 million pounds of cargo moved through Rickenbacker for a 16.7% increase compared to the same time period in 2005 when 63.7 million pounds moved through Rickenbacker.

Cargo growth at Rickenbacker is due to AirNet, a company specializing in on-demand charter services for cargo and passengers, and the impressive network of freight forwarders and cargo airlines such as FedEx, UPS, Evergreen International, Kalitta and Atlas.

'Rickenbacker International Airport is a multi-modal cargo airport with a US Foreign-Trade Zone and a global logistics park that continues to grow in response to customer needs around the world,' explained David Whitaker, Vice President of Business Development & Communications for the Columbus Regional Airport Authority.
