Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc., a leading asset-light transportation and logistics service provider, announced today that two of its subsidiary companies, Active Aero Group and Rich Logistics, were named “Supplier of the Year” by General Motors. GM presented the awards at the automaker’s 23rd annual Supplier of the Year awards ceremony March 5 in Detroit, Mich. This is the second time each Roadrunner company has been recognized by GM for top performance. Roadrunner acquired Active Aero Group, a Belleville, Mich., based provider of ground and air expedited services, in 2014. The company acquired Rich Logistics, a Little Rock, Ark., provider of truckload and expedited services, in the same year. Supplier of the Year award winners from around the world were recognized for going above and beyond GM’s requirements, which are designed to provide customers with the most innovative technologies and the industry’s best quality vehicles. “On behalf of Active Aero Group, Rich Logistics and the entire Roadrunner family, we are extremely proud that two of our companies were recognized as a GM Supplier of the Year. This recognition is a true honor and demonstrates the excellent performance of both companies,” said Mark DiBlasi, President and CEO of Roadrunner. “These awards recognize the hard work and exceptional service of our team in providing time-sensitive and critical transportation components as part of the GM supply chain.” “These companies are the best-of-the-best suppliers, and deserving of special recognition for their outstanding contributions,” said Steve Kiefer, GM vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “We need them to continue to bring us their most innovative technologies and highest quality services and work, and we will continue to win together for the benefit of our customers.” The Supplier of the Year award winners are chosen by a global team of GM purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics executives.
