Pat Roche, International Marketing Director of RedBerry Software, has been elected Chairman of the United Kingdom Air Cargo Club (UKACC).

The industry social networking club consists of more than 400 leading UK air cargo executives from the airline, forwarding and logistics, GSA, ground handling, trucking, equipment and technology sectors. In 2008, more than 1,000 people attended UKACC lunches, its annual golf day, race night and Gala Ball in central London. Pat Roche has nominated Help for Heroes as this year's charity.

He said: 'For many years, UKACC has successfully provided the opportunity for people from across the industry to meet socially and support a series of great causes. Membership of the Club is free and by registering online we provide regular updates on our events taking place throughout the year. In the current economic climate we are confident of growing our membership as UKACC provides a friendly and enjoyable opportunity to leave the stresses of work behind for a few hours whenever we get together.'

Marilyn Rix, Regional Cargo Sales Manager of United Airlines, has been elected as Vice Chairman of UKACC.
