SNP’s 6+1 wide and 1-over-5 high RTGs will come equipped with a container position verification system, Kalmar Smartpath®, and will be delivered during first quarter of 2010. These are identical in design to the twenty top-performing E-One RTGs ordered by SNP in 2007.

The Project of Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Container deepwater river port invested by Saigon Newport Company consists of two phases. Phase 1 opened 1st June 2009 featuring a 300 m long berth, capable of handling container vessel of 100,000 DWT and a 20 ha container yard, capable of handling 650,000 TEU per year. The port receives every week two shipments from MOL and Hanjin vessels of 75,000 DWT with cargo transshipment of 2,000 TEU per vessel. Under Phase II, due for completion and operation in November 2010, SNP will complete and operate the remaining 600 m of berth, capable of handling container vessel of 110,000 DWT and a 40 ha container yard, capable of handling 1.1 mln TEU per year. Thanks to its favorable close-to-the sea situation, modern equipment and a state of the art managing system TOPX, Tan Cang – Cai Mep is one of the largest deepwater river container transshipment ports of Vietnam.
