Subic Bay International Terminal Corp. (SBITC) has officially launched the New Container Terminal-1 (NCT-1), Subic's newest terminal and container handling facility located at the Subic Bay Freeport. Armand Arreza, Subic Bay Metropolitan Development Authority (SBMA) administrator, led the ceremonial toast, which was among the highlights of NCT-1's grand launch. With him were Francisco Delgado III, SBITC vice chairman; James Gordon, Olongapo City mayor; Edgardo Abesamis, SBITC president; and Feliciano Salonga, SBMA chairman. SBITC was recently awarded a 30-year concession to operate, manage and develop the NCT-1, a 300,000-teu capacity container terminal primed and ready to serve northern Philippine trade. SBITC is a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI). Headquartered in the Philippines, ICTSI is on its 20th year of operation, and continues to pursue container terminal opportunities around the world.
