Global logistics provider SBS Worldwide has expanded its fixed-day transport operations with the launch of a new service from the US to the Netherlands as it looks to further expand operations in the important Benelux region.

SBS Worldwide launched its new fixed-day air freight consolidation service, which operates from New York's JFK Airport to Amsterdam Airport in the Netherlands, in January.

Lars Kloch, SBS Worldwide CEO, said: 'We see the Benelux region as a key area of growth for our business and have therefore created this fixed-day service to meet the needs of our clients in the region.

'By offering regular fixed-day services our customers can more accurately plan their supply chain. The service will also enable us to further improve the responsiveness of our supply chain offering to meet spikes in demand and also keep inventory levels to a minimum by reducing the need for buffer stock.'

The three-times-a-week service will depart from JFK Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, providing opportunities throughout the week. It will offer origin to destination transit times of between two to three days.

SBS Worldwide is able to launch the new service as a direct response to requests from its USA Key Account customers who see the Benelux as a key market for their export goods.
