Joining forces with Schneider enhances network and eliminates complexity for world's number one food company

Schneider National, a provider of transportation, intermodal and logistics services, announced today that it has been selected as a top intermodal provider for Nestl' USA. The world's foremost nutrition, health and wellness company recently consolidated its North American network of intermodal suppliers and selected Schneider as one of its two primary intermodal providers.

In its new expanded role, Schneider Intermodal will move goods from North American manufacturing plants to specific Nestl' distribution centers across the United States, including Mira Loma, CA, DeKalb, IL, Breinigsville, PA, Forth Worth, TX and McDonough, GA. Schneider's operational expertise and vast coverage capabilities in Intermodal drayage will be critical to the overall success of the Nestl' Intermodal program.

'We selected Schneider as one of our main intermodal carriers because of the success we've had with them over the past 20 years,' said Joe Lombardo, group manager, Transportation Logistics, Nestl' USA. 'They possess their own containers and trailers, which means they are well-positioned to help us optimize our trailer pools. In addition, Schneider's use of technology allows us to haul more freight using less manpower while still achieving the easy, door-to-door service Nestl' prides itself on.'

'Schneider is excited about the opportunity to take our longstanding working relationship with Nestl' to the next level as one of their top intermodal providers,' said Bill Matheson, president of Schneider National's Intermodal division. 'By offering Nestl' a totally electronic, simplified network, we'll deliver the cost savings and increased efficiencies that they're looking for'without missing a beat on service.'
