SEKO, a global provider of freight forwarding and logistics solutions, announced the appointment of John A. Fitzgerald as Global Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Based out of SEKO's corporate headquarters in Itasca, IL, he will be responsible for the overall management of SEKO's sales and marketing efforts, including its strategic clients.

Mr. Fitzgerald has more than 30 years of experience in the logistics industry, including extensive roles with Fritz, Circle and Airborne Express. He most recently worked with UPS Supply Chain Solutions as Regional Vice President of Business Development-Retail Consumer Sector. Additionally, he served as Global Chairman for the Chicago Roundtable of the Council of Logistics Management (now Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals). He is a past President and Board Director of the Strategic Account Management Association. He is also on the Sales Advisory Board for the Department of Marketing at Northern Illinois University.

Fitzgerald is actively involved in the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and has been a frequent speaker to the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Association of Purchasing Managers, Distribution/Computer Expo and various other international trade organizations throughout North America and overseas. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member and frequent speaker at Northwestern University's Executive Transportation Programs.
