Only shortly after announcing its increased capacity on the Mediterranean Express Service MEX, Senator Lines will now also double its capacity on the New Mediterranean Express Service NMX as from the beginning of June. The first journey with the increased allocation of the Germany-based ocean carrier is the YM Bamboo, leaving Shanghai on 6 June 2008 on its westbound voyage to the Mediterranean.

The full port rotation of the weekly NMX service is: Genoa, Livorno, Fos sur Mer, Port Said, Jeddah, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Said, Genoa.

"The doubling of our capacity on the MEX and now also on the NMX service complies with our intention to grow and to constantly increase our market share", says Hans-Hermann Mohr, CEO of Senator Lines GmbH. "After the expanded volumes on the MEX service the upgrade of our NMX is the logical next step," he adds. "Thereby, we can match the shipping allocation with the high demand and cargo volumes of our customers on all trade lanes between the Mediterranean, the Middle East and Northern China."

Mark Ehlers, Director Operational Management at Senator Lines, explains: "The NMX as well as the MEX are services most in demand with our customers since they are directly interlinking the strong-growth markets of the Far East with the Mediterranean. The NMX features four calling ports in Northern China as well as a direct connection from China to the Italian port of Livorno. Thereby, Senator Lines can offer a wide range of direct port pairs."
