Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon announced that Evergreen Bottling Company would be bringing a new water bottling plant to Everett, with specific interest in the Port’s Riverside Business Park. It is expected the company would generate up to 15 million bottles of water per month for shipment overseas. The new plant is expected to produce up to 50 million bottles per month.

According to the company’s president, the new venture would create up to 100 family-wage jobs for the area. In addition, the business is looking to export the bottled water through the Port’s international shipping terminals, which will also generate additional trade-related jobs.

“This opportunity appears to be a win for the area and the Port of Everett is excited to be a part of trying to make something work,” Port Commission President Mark Wolken said. “ As we understand the business plan, our involvement is what Port's were established to do. The intent is to leverage outbound shipping capacity made possible through our partnership with imports from the aerospace business and others to create a value-added production that creates jobs on this end as well.”

The details have yet to be formalized, but the Port of Everett is excited about the job creation and community benefit associated with this business opportunity. Furthermore, it helps us advance the state and federal policy objectives of increasing exports and keeping jobs in the U.S.

“The Port of Everett’s Riverside Business Park (formerly occupied by the Weyerhaeuser Mill) is a perfect location for a company who is looking to export their products,” Port of Everett Executive Director John Mohr said. “Our ideal user for the Riverside Business Park creates family wage jobs and investment in our community and cargo for our marine terminals. We look forward to completing an agreement with Evergreen Bottling Company to provide a great place for them to do their business and for the Port to meet the goals of the Port of Everett."
