New credit product now available

The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) is now offering members the opportunity to obtain their company credit scores which are posted on all Load Matching Services. This free member benefit is a result of arrangements recently completed by TIA's Credit Practices Committee with TransCredit of Jacksonville, Florida.

'As the only company providing Credit Scores to the load-posting services, TransCredit is in a unique position to provide maximum benefit to TIA members.' said Robert Voltmann, TIA President and CEO. Voltmann continued, 'Our goal at TIA is to help our members grow the success of their businesses. One way we do this is by seeking discounts on products and services they need such as critical information about their credit scores. The TIA Board recognizes that members' need for credit information is essential. Consequently TIA developed relationships with the National Association of Credit Managers and we are pleased to announce an endorsement of TransCredit.'

Here's how it works:

  • TIA participants will be assigned a TransNumber' and PIN. They can then login to the TransCredit website 24/7 by clicking on the 'TIA CREDIT CONNECTION' on this website. The member's current credit report and credit score that is displayed on all Load Matching services will be displayed.
  • After reviewing their report a member may update their corporate information with any changes or additions.
  • Members also have the ability to dispute any reference. They also have the ability to add more references, which may improve their credit score.
  • 'Auto-Alert' is attached to the member company's credit report. Any derogatory information received that reduces a member's score by three points or more will prompt TransCredit to contact their designated representative. The member will be give two business days to resolve the issue before the change goes into effect.
  • 'Abusive Intermediaries.' In addition to the TIA WatchDog, members may file a complaint against any broker or forwarder (TIA member or not) for ethical, legal or financial misconduct. (TransCredit will verify to the best of their ability and report their findings to the complainant and to the TIA Board. Note: Substantiated complaints will also be forwarded to participating Load Matching Services.)
  • 'Negligent Truck Lines.' In addition to the TIA WatchDog, members may file a complaint against any truck line for ethical, legal or financial misconduct. (TransCredit will verify to the best of their ability and report their findings to the complainant and to the TIA Board. Substantiated complaints will also be forwarded to participating Load Matching Services.)
  • TransCredit reports on TIA members will be identified with 'TIA' or 'TIA-P3.'

This dynamic credit connection was designed especially for all TIA members by TransCredit with input from members and the TIA Credit Practices Committee.
