The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) is honoring the achievements of Klaus-Michael Kuehne, Executive Chairman of Kuehne + Nagel Group and Delford M. Smith, founder and owner of Evergreen International Aviation by inducting both executives into its prestigious Hall of Fame.

TIACA will formally acknowledge its new Hall of Fame awardees at a special Awards Dinner at the Lauritzen Terminal at Copenhagen Airport, Denmark, on May 13th 2008, the first day of TIACA's Executive Conference.

Gary Bartek, Chair of TIACA'S Chairman's Council, said: 'In Klaus-Michael Kuehne and Delford Smith, we have two outstanding and extremely deserving additions to TIACA's Hall of Fame. Klaus-Michael Kuehne is being recognized for his professional leadership and innovative development of one of the world's leading logistics companies. In addition, this award honors his outstanding dedication and support to education and the development of future industry leaders. Delford M. Smith is being recognized for his innovative leadership in the aviation industry and for his humanitarian and relief projects.'

TIACA established the Hall of Fame in 1997 to recognize and honor air cargo professionals who have played a leading role in the progress of aviation and who through their foresight, performance and dedication have created and grown the industry, which contributes substantially to the global economy.

Klaus-Michael Kuehne is Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and the majority shareholder of the Kuehne + Nagel Group, one of the leading global freight forwarding and logistics companies with a turnover of CHF 21 billion Swiss francs in 2007. Delford M. Smith is the founder and owner of Evergreen International Aviation, Inc. and has actively directed the company since its inception 47 years ago. Headquartered in McMinnville, Oregon, Evergreen employs more than 4,500 people and has 100 bases worldwide.
