Trans Global Logistics, a leading Hong Kong-based logistics company, has opened a new office in Atlanta to continue its expansion plan. The company has a large network of 47 owned offices throughout 18 countries in Asia and in the U.S. serving key gateways, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta.

The new Atlanta office allows Trans Global to more efficiently manage air and ocean import and export shipments.

'Atlanta is a huge gateway for air and ocean transportation and it has a large and growing base of shippers,' says Donald Woo, CEO of Trans Global Logistics. 'Having our own office in Atlanta will allow us to provide higher levels of customer service to our existing customers and to market our logistics services to a new shipper base.'

The Atlanta office will play an important role allowing Trans Global to continue to grow its Latin America business, taking advantage of efficient routing of freight through Miami, the key Latin America gateway. 'Our Latin American business is strong and with a presence in the Southeast we will expand business in the market,' says Woo.

Trans Global Atlanta is a full-service office that handles inbound and outbound air and ocean shipments along with customs brokerage services. The facility has warehouse space to provide distribution solutions to customers.

The new office is staffed by an experienced operations and business development team. Here are key contacts:

' Pat Nelms is vice president of business development, with overall responsibility for the region.

' Carmen Aranas is director of business development, with responsibility for sales.

' Stacy Hudson, station manager, is responsible for import, export and customs brokerage operations and customer service.
