CarrierWatch' Insurance Monitoring Center to help truckload freight brokers, 3PLs, and shippers quickly and safely bring onboard new carriers and monitor those they use on a regular basis. The Center also works with insurance agents to investigate certificate of insurance data regarding general liability, auto (truck) liability, workers compensation, and contingency cargo requirements. Separately, the Center will provide resources to help freight intermediaries and carriers navigate increasingly complex insurance requirements.

The Center is headed by Kathi Marth, AAI, CIC, CPIW and CPCU, who has 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including a decade of transportation insurance management.

'Insurance matters have become a bit like legal matters: they're increasingly specialized, and trucking insurance is no exception when you consider the potential magnitude of the claims,' said David Schrader, TransCore senior vice-president. 'The CarrierWatch Insurance Monitoring Center, part of our award-winning customer service organization, is a cornerstone of our business, along with the DAT Network of load boards and the spot market truckload rate index.'

Initial services include procuring and monitoring carriers' insurance certificates, including those carriers who are not part of TransCore's DAT Network of load boards. CarrierWatch also monitors carriers' authority and CSA scores, and maintains a database housing millions of carrier records, which helps identify and protect against 'chameleon' carriers and others who engage in fraudulent business practices.

As the industry's first comprehensive carrier monitoring service, CarrierWatch has continued to set the standard going well beyond other services that only offer publically available insurance and safety information. CarrierWatch is the most widely used monitoring service in the market, used by thousands of 3PLs, brokers and shippers.
