Widdows has already served two 12-month terms as TSA chairman, following a January 2007 restructuring designed to involve member line senior managements more directly in the Agreement's day-to-day operations. He is also chairman of the World Shipping Council a Washington, D.C.-based shipping industry trade organization. NOL, under his leadership, has been active with industry groups and governmental agencies worldwide on a range of productivity, environmental and other issues affecting global transportation and trade.
'We are fortunate to have Ron Widdows continue at the helm of TSA,' said J.S. Lee, senior executive vice president of Hanjin Shipping Co. Ltd. and a member of TSA's executive committee. 'His industry leadership on infrastructure and productivity improvements, and his efforts within TSA to increase transparency and information sharing with customers, have enhanced TSA's visibility and credibility during his tenure.'
