Sweden's TTS Ships Equipment, Gothenburg, has won an order for the design and supply of Cargo Access Equipment (CAE) from South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) involving a series of four 7,900 units PCTCs.

These vessels are sister ships to four vessels currently on order for the same Owner, the Taiwanese shipping company TMT. These latest four vessels will be built at HHI's Hyundai Samho Shipyard - Hull Nos S477-480.

This series of car carriers started in 2004 when Wallenius/Wilhelmesen ordered four ships to be built, two at HHI Ulsan and two at HSHI at Samho. The series continued with further eight ships for Wallenius/Wilhelmsen/Eukor. In total the series now consists of 20 ships all having TTS' CAE as part of the main design.

The cargo access equipment to be supplied by TTS comprises quarter and side ramps, internal ramps and covers, including necessary hydraulic and electric systems. The CAE for each vessel has a gross weight of about 615 tons. TTS' contract includes delivery of design, vital parts and supervision of installation.

The TTS equipment is scheduled to be completed by August, November 2010 and March and May 2011, respectively. The vessels are due for delivery to the owner by August, October, December 2011 and February 2012, respectively.

Currently TTS cargo access equipment has been installed onboard or contracted to be delivered to around 200 vehicle carriers, with further vessels expected to be added to the growing list of the world's leading supplier of such equipment.
