The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today issued a final Chief’s Report approving the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening Project, clearing the way for congressional authorization in an upcoming Water Resources Development Act. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ stamp of approval on the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening project solidified this project’s importance not just to our region and state but also to the nation. Thanks to the perseverance and tenacity of our congressional and local representatives, the support of our local business and elected officials and the commendable work of our Jacksonville District and Corps leadership, the benefits of this project in terms of jobs, opportunity and national competitiveness are moving closer to reality.”
