UltraBurn Technology Adopted by Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Operators

Emissions Technology, Inc. (ETI) of Houston, Texas is pleased to announce that two of its customers, have reported significant improvements in fuel savings and emissions reduction as a result of their adoption of the UltraBurn® Combustion Catalyst System on the generators and propulsion engines of their ferry vessels.

These vessels operate in the pristine environments of the Pacific Northwest where emissions reduction (particularly black smoke) are as important as fuel savings. Skagit County Ferry Operations Division reported, in a press release on June 26, 2013, a reduction in black smoke of over 43% and double digit reductions in other emissions on their M/V Guemes Island Ferry. Skagit County installed ETI’s UltraBurn® Combustion Catalyst Systems on their two main propulsion engines and their generator earlier this year for the primary purpose of reducing black smoke.

This dramatic reduction in black smoke was observed by ferry customers and staff who now enjoy a cleaner transit to and from the beautiful Guemes Island.

The Pierce County Public Works and Utilities Division announced in its press release on September 26, 2013 a fuel cost savings of more than 32% in the last six months as a result due to the use of UltraBurn® technology. Pierce County installed the UltraBurn® systems on its propulsion engines and generators on both the M/V Steilacoom II and the M/V Christine. The engines used on these three ferry vessels are also commonly used in equipment in the oil and gas, mining, forestry, construction and cargo handling industries.

The UltraBurn® Combustion Catalyst System is installed on equipment in all these industries. Emissions Technology, Inc. is a Houston-based technology company committed to providing fuel savings and cost-effective emissions reduction solutions for off-road diesel fleet owners. Their UltraBurn® technology consists of patented state-of-the-art catalyst delivery systems coupled with catalyst formulations specifically designed for medium to large sized off-road diesel engines in a variety of industries.
