For the first time in its over 25 year history, Unishippers Global Logistics, LLC, the nation’s first and one of the largest small package and freight shipping resellers, broke $40 million in monthly revenue in March of 2014 and overall, the company grew by 13.5 percent in revenue over the same period last year.
“The first quarter of this year has been filled with many notable .accomplishments,” said Kevin Lathrop, President of Unishippers. “Not only did we break a company revenue record last month, but we’re also aggressively growing the franchise system and have recently welcomed eight new franchisees to the Unishippers family in the last three months.”
Additionally, the company increased revenue for the UPS small package business by 11 percent, and increased sales for the full truckload product by 30 percent compared to last year. Recently coming out of their Annual Unishippers Convention in San Diego, it is clear that the franchise system has already been incorporating some of the tips and best practices they learned to ensure a successful and record breaking 2014.
“Our sales in March are a remarkable projection of what our franchise system can achieve this year,” said Lathrop. “We’re looking to reach 20 percent in annual growth for the next several years in order to reach our revenue goal of $1 billion. We are currently on track to end 2014 in excess of $425 million in revenue. One way franchisees intend to reach their goals this year is by hiring more Shipping Consultants. The system intends to add more than 100 new Shipping Consultants throughout the country by year end.”
