WFS has won a contract to provide cargo handling services to US Airways in the carrier's freight facility in Philadelphia. Services include cargo warehousing, customer service and cargo screening.

WFS has supplied the latest TSA-approved technology for x-ray and ETD cargo screening.

Philadelphia is the largest US Airways' cargo hub in North America with a total annual throughput of 120,000 tons. The operation is 24/7 with more than 400 daily flights to 29 international and 85 domestic destinations.

WFS also began handling cargo for US Airways in Miami in June. The addition of Philadelphia takes the total number of locations in North America to 15 where WFS provides cargo services to US Airways. Services are also provided at seven European airports.

'We have a very good relationship in North America as well as globally. This helps in starting an operation of the size and scope of PHL where all players need to work together. The transition to WFS as a new vendor and to the introduction of new x-ray technology has been smooth due to this solid relationship,' commented Adolfo Morales, COO and EVP for WFS North America. 'This contract reflects US Airways' confidence in WFS and the strength of the partnership built up over a number of years. WFS looks forward to the challenge and honor of handling US Airways' largest cargo facility.'
