The Grain Terminal licensed as a transfer elevator by the Canadian Grain Commission has a storage capacity of 262,000 metric tonnes. The terminal's location enables it to operate year round. Serviced by a port railway, it has direct access to both CN and CP rail networks. It also provides direct shipping routes to various destinations in Canada, the US and Europe.
The agreement was signed following a selection process led by the MPA, and successful due diligence process conducted by Viterra. On May 2, 2011, Viterra further strengthened itspresence in Eastern Canada by opening a new merchandising office in Montreal that will source and market food ingredients to key destination markets in Canada, the U.S. and Europe, while complementing terminal operations by facilitating the efficient movement of grains and oilseeds through its value-added pipeline.
