Descartes Systems Group, the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, announced that WAXIE Sanitary Supply, America’s largest family-owned distributor of sanitary maintenance supplies, has selected Descartes’  cloud-based solution for route planning, dispatch, tracking and mobile proof of delivery (POD) to enhance its delivery operations.
“A key differentiator for our organization is an enduring combination of service excellence, planning for the future, and investing in our people and our business,” said Eric Cohen, Vice President of Logistics at WAXIE. “We believe Descartes’ leading routing and mobile solution can help us meet our customer service commitments; fund growth by reducing fuel, labor and vehicle costs; and empower our drivers and dispatchers with innovative route management tools.”
Descartes’ integrated solution optimizes daily route plans and ensures efficient execution of those plans. Integrated GPS tracking and bidirectional mobile communication capabilities facilitate the free flow of information between dispatch and the field to better manage exceptions while providing accurate planned vs. actual performance for continuous performance improvement. The integrated mobile application that provides robust stop-level data collection for management of over, short, and damaged (OS&D) orders, will enable WAXIE to streamline operations and eliminate paper-based processes across its nine distribution centers.
“We’re excited to help WAXIE deliver significant operational improvement and cost savings,” said Andrew Roszko, Senior Vice President of Sales at Descartes.  “As part of our cloud-based Logistics Technology Platform, Descartes' integrated routing and mobile solutions are designed to help companies, like WAXIE, create and manage optimal delivery routes and wirelessly capture and act on critical customer, driver and vehicle field data in real-time within a paperless environment.”
