In line with its continued focus on being 'The West Coast Logistics Leader,' Weber Distribution, LLC, a privately-held logistics and supply chain management provider for more than 83 years, has established a 100,000 square foot Lodi facility to manage its customers' growing storage and distribution needs throughout Northern California.

Ideally situated near Stockton, Sacramento, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and Silicon Valley, the temperature-controlled facility is a new hub location for Weber in Northern California. The facility is adjacent to the major rail lines and is located 85 miles from the Port of Oakland, which allows Weber to provide a range of import and cross-dock/pool distribution related services, including labeling and routing and outbound transportation to regional locations.

Some of the customers using Weber's Lodi facility include such well-known brands as Cadbury, Tootsie Roll, and Just Born. From the Lodi facility, Weber also stores and delivers product for Can-Am Care, a distributor of the HUGO brand rolling walker, to leading retail chains, including Costco and Sam's Club.

'Our Lodi facility is a geographically desirable distribution point for Northern California and the Pacific Northwest,' said Bill Butler, senior vice president, client solutions & marketing for Weber. 'We have also made it home to a comprehensive fleet of Weber trucks ' giving us total control over the delivery of product to our customers' customers.'

The Lodi facility uses Weber's Warehouse Management System, known as LINKS, designed to provide Weber's customers with direct visibility and control over their inventory via the Internet. LINKS uses a combination of the latest radio-frequency equipment and barcodes to track the real-time movement of Weber's customers' products into and out of its warehouses. Located on U.S. Highway 99 and within five miles of Interstate 5, the facility's address is 960 South Guild Avenue, Lodi, California.

'With more and more shipments moving through the Port of Oakland, which is currently the fourth busiest port on the West Coast, we look forward to improving the speed and agility of our customers' supply chains from this strategic location,' said Butler. 'With our already strong presence near the Ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, San Diego, and Portland, we have experienced a tremendous amount of growth in the last year and we expect it to continue into 2007/2008.'
