A modern logistics terminal in the Jebel Ali Free Zone Association will be added to the Weiss-Röhlig Air & Sea branch in the Emirate of Dubai by the end of 2015. Lauterach/Dubai, 8 June 2015. Since the beginning of May, Weiss-Röhlig has set up a new logistics terminal in the free trade zone Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) in the Emirate of Dubai. This terminal allows the transport and logistics experts to expand their current air and sea freight branch into a full-service logistics location. The building complex is situated on the central freight transportation corridor between the largest sea port of the United Arab Emirates and the Al Maktoum airport. Its completion is scheduled for the end of 2015. Around 4.6 million euros will be invested in this location. International trading post "The flourishing economic area of the Persian Gulf is of great importance to our customers", says Heinz Senger-Weiss, board member at Gebrüder Weiss. "We invest wherever our customers need us". In the next few months, a modern logistics centre with logistics halls (5,100 m²) and office space (720 m²) will be built on a plot of 10,000 m². This allows Weiss-Röhlig to provide European-standard logistics services even in Dubai, giving its customers direct access to the emerging markets in the Persian Gulf region. "We are extensively licensed as a logistics provider in the free trade zone. Our customers can use the terminal as a trading post, without being based on site", explains Jürgen Hammerer, managing director of Weiss-Röhlig Dubai and project leader of the implementation of the logistics terminal.
