Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), a global leader in finished vehicle logistics, has been awarded the contract to manage vehicle processing and outbound yard management at Honda's plant in Lincoln, Alabama. This is the third such contract that WWL holds with Honda, including operations at facilities in East Liberty, Ohio, and Greensburg, Indiana. This is the 10th automotive production plant for which WWL oversees vehicle processing in North America.

'WWL is thrilled to announce additional vehicle processing business from one of our key and long-time industry partners, Honda. Our expanded land-based services, in addition to ocean transportation, demonstrates that auto manufacturers now have a vast network and reliable supplier to leverage for any and all logistical needs', says Christopher Connor, President of Region Americas at Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.

Dennis Manns, Vice President ' Sales and Logistics Planning at American Honda, says, 'We are excited to further align ourselves with the expertise, quality of service and customer care that Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics offers. There is a reason that Honda has named WWL as a logistics partner of choice.'

WWL is expected to assume responsibility of the operations on May 1st, which include technical services, vehicle releasing, distribution and rail loading. The plant has the capacity to produce up to 250,000 units annually. Approximately 60 employees will be transitioned to WWL, which will provide them with training and operations certification. Models produced at the facility are the Odyssey, Ridgeline, Pilot and Accord.

WWL was named by Honda as Vehicle Processor of the Year in 2008 and 2009. WWL also provides some ocean transportation and terminal services for Honda.
