Bangkok, Thailand - Brelog Global Logistics Solutions has coordinated the transport of a heavy lift project containing underwater communication cable coiled into three massive A.M. drums. Each drum has the approximate dimensions of 7, 40 x 6, 10 x 2, 90 m.
Weighing 120 tons each, all three drums contain an estimated 200 kilometers of underwater communication cable. Approximately 125 kilometers of the cable was coiled into two drums connected together and was lifted by a twin lift with spreader, with one drum added after. The Germany-based global carrier arranged for pick-up by barge to accommodate the transferring of the massive cargo to Bremerhaven, alongside an ocean vessel. The lifting of the cargo was accomplished via the floating crane as break-bulk. The oversize freight was then placed in the container vessel positioned under deck as a sea freight for onward shipping bound for Asia.
With Brelog in control of securing, lashing, port handling and overseeing the entire cargo operation, the freight arrived securely with customs formalities cleared swiftly upon arrival. Completed in a record time, Brelog arranged all prior provisions and appropriate measures with port authorities assisting in receiving the freight at quay. Brelog Global Logistics Solutions is a proud member of X2 Elite and X2 Projects representing Germany.
