YRC Logistics, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: YRCW), announced the company has expanded existing global trade management services to address the needs of importers seeking to comply with the new Importer Security Filing (ISF) regulations issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Experienced licensed customs brokers now provide trade compliance services from YRC Logistics offices in Chicago and Los Angeles to complement the trade management professionals based in Boston and London.

'Our status as a customs-approved 'early adopter' enabled us to reengineer supply chain processes ahead of the effective date of the new rule' said John Carr, YRC Logistics Chief Operating Officer and President. 'Early on we recognized the need for pre-shipment compliance services and expanded our offering in response to client demand.' This capability, together with the tireless collaboration among origin and destination management teams, enables us to satisfy the new requirements in a consistent, knowledgeable and professional manner.'

The new CBP regulation went into effect on January 26, 2009. The Importer Security Filing requires an electronic submission of entry information before the cargo is brought into the United States by vessel. This new regulation assumes that importers will know the manufacturer (or supplier), country of origin, and commodity HTSUS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States) classification of imported merchandise before issuing the purchase order for the goods.

'Placing experienced trade professionals on our customers' business is an important priority in our global logistics service portfolio,' added Paul Fitzpatrick, YRC Logistics Managing Director of Global Trade Management. 'Our emphasis on pre-shipment planning in international supply chains anticipated the new customs' requirements. The strong customer interest in our trade compliance services demonstrates its effectiveness.'

YRC Logistics provides pre-shipment compliance, process engineering, in-house seminars and training to importers and their global suppliers. YRC Logistics professionals use real-world origin and destination experience to facilitate the unique supply chain collaboration mandated by the Importer Security Filing rule.
