Yusen Logistics has expanded its cross-border trucking services for Indochina with the launch of temperature-controlled LTL (less than truckload) services for food products. With reefer trucks often used for road transportation of food products and other chilled cargo, solutions can be costly with scheduling issues, as trucks sometimes need to be chartered even for small orders, or postponed until more cargo can be consolidated. Yusen Logistics has launched temperature-controlled LTL services using reefer trucks. These services enable consolidation, flexible scheduling, and reduced transportation costs in comparison with chartered trucks. With cross-border transportation, there can be cases where cargo needs to be transferred to another vehicle at border crossings. In order to avoid temperature increases during that task, thermal blankets are utilized to minimize the impact of external temperatures and maintain freshness. Transportation with a seamless cold chain is already being conducted between Ho Chi Minh and Phnom Penh.
