China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL), Hanjin Shipping (HANJIN), CMA CGM S.A. (CMA CGM) and Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) have announced that they will jointly launch a new direct service from Asia to South America West Coast including Manzanillo, Mexico. Offering a direct and weekly sailing with 70days round voyage, the new service will cover the trade lane linking from Asia to South America West Coast. This new service will be operated by 10(ten) vessels with 2,350-2,550 Teus loadable capacity and 300 usable reefer plugs. Out of these 10(ten) vessels, CSCL and HANJIN will provide four vessels each, CMA CGM and HMM will provide one vessel each. With this deployment, the four carriers are confident to provide a direct and improved transit time service that will serve the best commitment to customers’ demand accompanying the growing trade activity from Asia to West Coast of South America. The first sailing will start on 13th, September, 2010 from Shekou and port rotation will be as follows: Shekou-Ningbo-Shanghai-Pusan-Manzanillo(Mexico)-Buenaventura- Guayaquil-Callao-Iquique-Valparaiso-SanVincent-Manzanillo(Mexico)-Pusan-Shekou.
