Lee Connor, president of John S. Connor, Inc., has announced the appointment of Paige Thorton as general manager of the company’s Norfolk branch office. She joined the firm in 1997 and was previously export/NVOCC manager. In her new position, Thornton serves as manager of operations for import/export and NVOCC services and also provides sales support. Prior to joining Connor, Thornton held supervisory logistics positions with various companies including Tristar Shipping, E&B International, and Cavalier Shipping. She attended Virginia Tech University where she studied accounting. Thornton is active in logistics industry organizations and is of member of the Hampton Roads Traffic Club and the Hampton Roads Foreign Commerce Club. Carey Treadwell has been named to a prestigious team of Global Business Development Directors by Mallory Alexander International Logistics. He will focus on development of global supply chain and logistics solutions for national accounts. With this addition, the Mallory Alexander Global Business Development Group now includes six directors, with a combined experience of more than 150 years. ‘Carey brings a wealth of knowledge to our customers,’ says Neely Mallory III, President of Mallory Alexander. A newcomer to the maritime industry, Schonk brings extensive financial experience to his new position leading the Port’s finance and accounting functions while developing financial strategies for the future. The former Director of Finance for Mnemonics, Inc. in Melbourne, Florida, has held similar leadership positions for defense and aerospace companies in the Central Florida region. His professional experience includes positions with Oracle Corp. and Lockheed Martin. Schonk is a graduate of Rollins College with a MBA in Finance and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Florida.

A graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy with a MBA in Finance from Florida International University, Walton has extensive experience in the maritime industry. He previously served as General Manager for Tropical Shipping’s St. Thomas operation and held management positions with Moran Towing.
