- By Paul Scott Abbott, AJOTIndicative of the high interest in developments surrounding the expansion of the Panama Canal, more than 200 port industry leaders gathered Jan. 23-24 in Tampa for the Shifting International Trade Routes: Planning for the Panama Canal Expansion workshop, cosponsored by the American Association of Port Authorities and the U.S. Maritime Administration. The first day of sessions was capped by a reception at the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel. The reception was hosted by the Tampa Port Authority, Integra Screen and Ambient Technologies Inc.
