Schneider Logistics, Inc. announced that Dave Evans has joined the company as director of new business development. In the position, Evans will expand the company’s customer base in the Western United States. Specifically, he will focus on developing new business engagements for Schneider’s Transportation Management and Logistics lines of business as well as the company’s Transportation Advisory Service(TM) offerings. ‘With logistics sales and business development experience rooted in both transportation and in the Western part of the country, Dave is a perfect fit for this position,’ said Dan Van Alstine, senior vice president, enterprise sales for Schneider National. ‘Throughout his career, he has demonstrated relentless dedication to improving processes, bringing in new business and generating revenues for several industry-leading companies. We look forward to the opportunity to share in his positive and innovative approach to business development.’ Evans joins Schneider Logistics from Penske Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Penske Truck Leasing, a joint venture of Penske Corporation and General Electric. At Penske, he served as strategic account executive developing new partnerships for the company in the Western United States. Previously, Evans spent eight years at Kuehne & Nagel/USCO Logistics, a leading global provider of integrated logistics and supply chain solutions. At the company he held several prominent positions, serving most recently as vice president of sales for the Western United States. In that role, he led a team that successfully increased sales and revenue by more than 80 percent over three years, while integrating warehousing with transportation management and international transportation services. Prior to Kuehne & Nagel, Evans spent 14 years in sales and business development at Ryder System. There, in various roles, he generated more than $30 million in new sales, and grew select accounts in the Western United States by as much as 100%. Evans is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). An active member of the Southern California Roundtable, he is the immediate past president and served on the board of directors for nine years. Evans was formerly a member of the National Roundtable Advisory Board. The Port of Tacoma has selected Pam Jenkins as Director of Environmental Programs. In this position, Jenkins leads a nine-person environmental staff that is focused on the Port’s environmental stewardship programs, including construction and monitoring of habitat restoration and improvement projects, cleanup of historic contamination and ensuring that Port operations comply with environmental laws and regulations. Before joining the Port, Jenkins was Director of Environmental Services for the Washington State Department of Corrections. ‘Pam brings the Port broad environmental and technical experience and a remarkable record of successful leadership,’ said Lou Paulsen, the Port’s Senior Director of Facilities Development. ‘In her previous position with the Department of Corrections, she led the Department’s evolution to an environmentally sustainable agency.’ Jenkins’ earlier experience includes work with Science Applications International Corporation (Olympia, Washington) as a Senior Project Manager and with the Washington State Department of Ecology as an Air Quality Engineer and later, as an Environmental Engineer. She was also President of Practical Environmental Solutions, Inc. an Olympia, Washington-based environmental consulting firm. Jenkins is a licensed Professional Engineer with a Masters degree in Civil Engineering (Environmental) from the University of Washington and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado.
