The Institute of International Container Lessors President Steven Blust, has announced the release of the IICL's Twenty First Annual Lease Container Fleet Survey, noting that as of January 1, 2009, the operating leasing fleet of world containers reached approximately 10.7 million TEU.' 2009 Fleet Survey totals consists of:

The survey, released annually, contains information submitted by IICL members and other participating worldwide leasing companies.' In addition to this year's survey,'prior surveys are viewable on the IICL website.

The surveys include current container and chassis fleet size, new purchase and dispositions for a variety of equipment types.' The IICL invites and encourages comments for improvement on this survey as to its content, format and presentation.
