Product guarantee to Include truck feeder service between American's gateway cities and secondary markets.

American Airlines Cargo Division (AA Cargo) announced that it is expanding the Expeditefs product guarantee to include its truck feeder service. Expeditefs, American's express freight product, provides a 97% service reliability metric and a 100 percent flown-as-booked guarantee. Now, the promise of superior service will include the trucking segments that connect freight from secondary markets with widebody flights at American's gateway cities throughout the world. Expeditefs provides priority boarding and the fastest possible flight connections.

"By expanding Expeditefs to include routings on American Airlines scheduled truck services, AA Cargo further enhances its ability to provide customers priority boarding and faster hub connections to any of the more than 250 AA Cargo destinations on four continents," said Carl Frey, manager of the AA Cargo Operations Center.

AA Cargo's flight-specific shipping, supported by online tracking technology, allows customers to check the real-time status and location of their shipments while giving customers greater confidence.

"AA Cargo customers who utilize our Expeditefs service can take advantage of our Web-based tracking any time to find where their cargo is and when it will be delivered," said Bob Dibble, AA Cargo product manager, who was instrumental in the development of the Expeditefs product. "We aren't just providing greater confidence, we are giving forwarders what their businesses demand. With a service reliability rate of more than 97%, we know that we are meeting the needs of our customers with this product."

Additional benefits include full shipment visibility beginning at the originating city, where it is dropped off at an AA Cargo terminal and then on to its final destination. The trackability gained from utilizing American's trucking segment to the airport gateway provides value and confidence that a vital connection is made on time.

Currently, 600 origin and destination city pairs around the world participate in the trucking segments of AA Cargo flights. Research is constantly updated to identify where cities can be added while still maintaining the high service standards that AA Cargo customers have come to expect. AA Cargo trucking partners move approximately 360 million pounds annually to American Airlines airfreight gateways.

Demand for the Expeditefs product has been overwhelming, as evidenced by AA Cargo's fourth quarter $228 million revenue performance, the highest in the company's history.

"Providing premium service throughout a vast worldwide network and backing it up with a 100 percent money-back guarantee - that's a springboard to providing a world-class experience to our customers," said Dibble.
