AAL wins again at 2016 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards
AAL, one of the world’s leading global breakbulk and heavy lift operators, has been named ‘Best Shipping Line – Project Cargo’ at the prestigious 2016 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards, held 14 June at the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai. The award was presented to AAL’s Deputy Managing Director, Wolfgang Harms. This prestigious award win follows another year of significant development for AAL since it won in the same category last year. This activity has included a space sharing cooperation with Swire Shipping on a major liner trade linking Asia and Australia; the opening of new offices in Korea and Canada; the expansion of AAL’s multipurpose fleet and the enhancement of its Tramp & Projects operation with a range of semi-liner services on key global trades that offer customers the assurance of regular fixed route sailings on key trades, combined with the convenience of highly flexible port calls. The AFLAS Awards recognise leading transport and related service providers across the world in over 40 major award categories – including international air and shipping lines; air and seaports; as well as global logistics operators, terminals and other associated industry professionals. The voting process enabled thousands of readers of Asia Cargo News and e-news subscribers around the world to vote for and determine the eventual award winners. Kyriacos Panayides, Managing Director of AAL, commented: “We are delighted and honoured to have won in the Project Cargo Category of the AFLAS Awards for a third consecutive year. We dedicate this award to our teams on land and sea and their hard work and commitment to delivering the best possible project transportation solutions and value to our global customers.”
