WOOD DALE, Ill. - Global aviation services leader AAR (NYSE: AIR) announced that its subsidiary, AAR Airlift Group, received its first work order from the U.S. Department of State and has begun work on the transition phase of the Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) contract. This follows the October 31, 2017 decision by the U.S. Court of Federal Claims (COFC) upholding the State Department’s September 1, 2016 award of the contract.

“We are excited to begin work on this important national security program,” said John Holmes, President and Chief Operating Officer, AAR. “We are confident that our operational experience and fleet maintenance expertise will benefit the Department of State and build on the aviation services we provide to other government entities.”
