AirBridge Cargo (ABC), a division of the Volga Dnepr Group, has announced that Peter Yap, Regional Director and Area Manager for Asia Pacific will retire from the company at the end of January 2006.

He will be succeeded by Robert Song, formerly with Air New Zealand Cargo, who will be based at the companies' regional headquarters in Shanghai, PRC. Announcing the changes, Stan Wraight, Vice President of Volga Dnepr Group, acknowledged Peter Yap's 'outstanding contribution' to the development and growth of AirBridge Cargo, Russia's first international scheduled cargo airline. He said: "Without doubt, ABC would be nowhere near as large as it is or have such professional staff in China without Peter's leadership. Under his direction the company has grown and achieved its objective to be in the top 5 in China for air cargo. He will be particularly missed by me as I have had the pleasure of working with Peter for over 15 years in various capacities and I have grown to respect him tremendously in that time. He is a true icon in this business."

Peter Yap joined Air Bridge Cargo in 2003 with more than 25 years' experience of effective air cargo services' sales management in the Asia-Pacific region. He had previously held senior cargo management positions with China Airlines and Atlas Air.

Robert Song, who succeeds Peter as Regional Director, joins the company with over 10 years of international cargo experience, which will be a valuable asset to the company in light of its expansion plans for the coming years.

"The addition of Robert to our senior management team is an important milestone for us towards our objective of making AirBridge one of the world's leading all-cargo airlines. The input of Robert into the policy and strategy of the company as it relates to the all-important Asian marketplace cannot be underestimated. The AirBridge team and I are very pleased to have him on board," added Stan Wraight.
