SEATTLE - Alaska Airlines this week begins daily, nonstop service from
San Jose, California to
Austin, Texas, and
Tucson, Arizona. With these new flights,
Alaska serves more destinations from Mineta San Jose International Airport than any other airline by offering nonstop service to 18 destinations with a total of 31 daily departures.
“Alaska Airlines continues to meet the needs of Silicon Valley travelers with new daily, nonstop flights from our
San Jose focus city to popular destinations like
Austin and
Tucson,” said
Annabel Chang, vice president, Alaska Airlines, Bay Area. “With the additional flights,
Alaska and Virgin America will offer guests 131 daily nonstop flights to 42 destinations from the three major Bay Area airports by the end of the year.”

“I am excited to welcome the new daily
San Jose -
Austin route launch by Alaska Airlines. This important business route will connect two major global tech hubs and will serve thousands of Silicon Valley residents and workers,” said Assemblyman

These new flights build on previously announced routes that began
March 20 and include daily flights from
San Jose to
Newark, New Jersey; three times daily flights from
San Jose to
Burbank, Calif.; as well as a four times daily service from
San Jose to
Los Angeles, which will begin on
September 20.
