WEST WARWICK, R.I. - Arpin Group has joined forces with the national non-profit, Move for Hunger, to provide an easy way for customers to donate their food to local food pantries in order to help their neighbors in need. As a proud partner of Move For Hunger, Arpin Group encourages their agents across the country to collect non-perishable food items from their customers and deliver them to local food pantries. To date, Arpin Group agents have delivered near 115,000 pounds of food to their local food pantries throughout the United States - providing more than 95,000 meals to their neighbors in need. "Moving can be a hectic and busy time for our customers, and their unopened food is usually the last thing on their mind," said Matt Dolan, chief operating officer of Arpin Group. "If they don't have the time to arrange for its donation, the food usually ends up in the trash. By partnering with Move for Hunger, we can now provide another convenient service to our customers while also feeding local families in need. Everybody wins." When people move, they often throw out a good deal of "stuff." Unfortunately, much of this stuff is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than just left behind. With the addition of this free service, every move will be transformed into an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, simply by donating the cans and non-perishables on moving day. Here is how it works: 1) Arpin customers will set aside their unopened non-perishable food items. 2) The Arpin moving crew will pack up the food on the day of the move and deliver it to a local food pantry. 3) From there, the donations will be sorted and delivered to local families in need. "Hunger is a national problem that affects every community. It's not always easy to see, but nearly 50 million Americans struggle to find their next meal," explains Adam Lowy, founder and executive director of Move for Hunger. "By partnering with socially conscious companies like Arpin Group, we can make a difference in the lives of others; provide the opportunity to fight hunger, while engaging employees, agents and communities in this important cause. Arpin Group's commitment to this service will have a significant impact on food insecurity nationwide."
