Furniture startup doubles its warehouse capacity in pursuit of faster delivery times VANCOUVER - Article announced that it will open a fourth distribution facility in Jacksonville, FL. Located at 10543 Canada Drive, the facility will nearly double Article's warehouse capacity, adding 319,000 sq. ft. of space and putting them within a daylong drive of an additional 60 million people. Since launching in 2013, Article has delivered more than 100,000 orders to customers across the United States and Canada. During that time, it has built its own warehousing and distribution network to accommodate growth and improve delivery times. "We choose warehouse locations that we know will improve efficiencies so we can better serve our customers," explained Aamir Baig, Co-founder, Director and CEO at Article. "By combining in-house software and systems to determine optimal routes with warehouses located in key port cities, we're able to dramatically reduce delivery times." Article's existing warehouses are located in Seattle, Los Angeles and New Jersey, with a combined capacity of 386,000 square feet. Article currently delivers more than 2,500 orders per week from these facilities. In 2017, 80 per cent of orders were delivered in less than two weeks, and almost a third in under a week. Article will begin operating from the Jacksonville facility in 2018 and anticipates that the facility will eventually handle 30 to 35 per cent of all orders.
