BDP International has opened a new project office in Nuremberg, Germany

"It is vital for us to enhance our project logistics capability in Europe, particularly Germany whose large industrial companies are migrating operations to every corner of the globe," said Luc Van Heygen, head of BDP's project logistics unit. "The new office is staffed with professionals who have broad experience in this logistics specialty."

The company's project logistics operation provides customized solutions that support construction, mining, power generation and other infrastructure projects throughout the world. Services offered include end-to-end materials management and tracking, freight negotiation and carrier cost maintenance, logistics process analysis and optimization, complete documentation, coordination of cargo inspections, inland transportation and scheduling, and supervision of heavy lifts, outsized and hazardous cargo, port operations, and job-site unloading and checking.

Managing the new office is Emanuel Scerra, who brings to BDP nearly 15 years of experience with the global energy and construction industries, as well as specialized project cargo carriers. Most recently, he served as branch manager and director of project forwarding for JAS Forwarding GmbH, Nuremberg. He also has worked for Dacotrans Grosskopf GmbH & Co. KG, Nuremberg/D'sseldorf; Fagioli Deutschland GmbH, Munich/Nuremberg; Z'st & Bachmeier Project GmbH, Nuremberg; and Schenker & Co. GmbH in Barcelona, Spain, and Stuttgart, Germany. The Nuremberg office will be staffed by Theodor K'hne and Roberto Lange, both of whom also joined BDP from JAS Forwarding, where they served as project forwarding operations manager and project manager respectively.
