Ajay Toor named TCA Highway Angel for performing CPR until EMS arrived ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Ajay Toor, of Surrey, Canada, a professional truck driver for Bison Transport of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been named a Highway Angel by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA). He is being recognized for assisting a fellow truck driver who was hit by a passing vehicle.  On September 5, 2016, Ajay was on his way to Langley when he saw lights flashing in the distance. As he approached the lights, he found that they were the flashers of a stopped car belonging to a young couple, who were standing near an injured truck driver. He was lying on the road with a flash light in his hand. Ajay quickly pulled over and approached the scene to assess the situation and offer assistance.

Ajay was informed that the truck driver had been crossing the road when a passing vehicle struck him and drove away. The driver expressed that he was cold, so Ajay quickly retrieved a blanket and a first aid kit from his truck. The young couple had already called emergency medical services. Despite the coverage of Ajay's blanket, the driver said he was still unable to bear the cold, and that he had a warmer blanket in his own truck; however, the driver’s keys were missing. With the driver’s permission, Ajay broke the victim's truck window and retrieved another blanket. Ajay not only waited with the victim until police and EMS arrived at scene, but he also assisted the injured man onto the stretcher; his leg and thigh appeared to be fractured.  For his willingness to assist his fellow driver, TCA has presented Ajay with a certificate, patches, lapel pin, and truck decals. Bison Transport also received a certificate acknowledging Ajay Toor as a Highway Angel. EpicVue sponsors TCA’s Highway Angel program. Since the program’s inception in August 1997, hundreds of drivers have been recognized as Highway Angels for the exemplary kindness, courtesy, and courage they have displayed while on the job.
