BNSF Railway Company (BNSF) announced it was named 2004 Partner of the Year by the world's largest home improvement retailer, The Home Depot.
BNSF was one of eight transportation carriers named The Home Depot's Partner of the Year-Rail. BNSF currently provides direct rail carload service to The Home Depot's distribution centers in addition to providing intermodal transportation.
"It is an honor to be recognized by The Home Depot as a vital link in their supply chain," said Dave Garin, BNSF group vice president, Industrial Products. "We look forward to strengthening our relationship further with The Home Depot by continuing to provide transportation products that deliver reliable and consistent service."
According to Steve Branscum, BNSF group vice president, Consumer Products, "BNSF is proud to receive this recognition from The Home Depot. Our employees' commitment to providing quality transportation services and dedication to meeting our customers' expectations are two reasons why the nation's top retailers continue to recognize BNSF as an industry leader."
In 2004, BNSF received carrier of the year recognitions from Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., American Honda Motor Corporation, FedEx Supply Chain, Evergreen America, Glovis America (third party logistics provider for Hyundi/Kia) and Toyota Logistics Services.
