Boeing Co. remains confident that its 737 Max forms the basis of a solid narrow-body strategy, despite Airbus SE’s deal to take control of Bombardier Inc.’s C Series jetliner. “Recent changes in the marketplace, the discussions between Airbus and Bombardier, don’t change our plans,’’ Boeing Chief Executive Officer Dennis Muilenburg said Wednesday on a conference call with analysts. “We will continue to look at our strategic alternatives, but we don’t need to change the path that we’re on,” he said. “We’re going to continue to look at ways to accelerate our core business, grow organically as our primary growth engine.’’ Bombardier’s C Series jets come in two variants capable of seating 108 to as many as 160 passengers. The smallest 737 Max jet has as few as 138 seats, according to Boeing’s website.
