CINCINNATI - Workhorse Group Inc. (NASDAQ: WKHS), an American technology company focused on providing electric mobility solutions to the transportation sector, today announced that Brink’s has purchased two Workhorse Class 5 E-GEN and E-100 chassis, paired with a Brink’s custom logistics body. The E-100 all-electric truck and the E-GEN electric extended-range truck will be deployed in California and Chicago to enhance the Brink’s U.S. fleet with cleaner, more economic vehicles. The Workhorse E-100 all-electric, zero emission truck achieves 37.5 MPGe fuel efficiency, with an average range of 100 miles on a single charge depending on duty cycle. The Workhorse E-GEN battery-electric extended range step van achieves 30 MPGe fuel efficiency, with an average range of 60 miles all-electric plus an additional 60 miles using the integrated BMW range extender, and reduces emissions by 75%. Both vehicles utilize Panasonic Li-Ion battery packs and incorporate Workhorse’s proprietary chassis design, powertrain, battery management system and real-time Metron telematics system. “We are delighted to be working with Brink’s on a fleet electrification plan, starting with California and Chicago,” said Steve Burns, Workhorse CEO. “Our medium-duty E-100 and E-GEN vehicles save our customers an estimated $150,000 in total cost of ownership savings per truck over a lifetime of use. Workhorse electric trucks lessen impact on the environment, while breaking dependency on petroleum based fuels.”
