Chapman Freeborn Airchartering has coordinated an urgent cargo charter from Miami to Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to help tackle a series of oil spills on the La Brea shoreline. The global aircraft charter specialist arranged a Boeing 767-200F aircraft to transport 25 tons of oil spill clean-up equipment to the island country, which is facing significant damage to its south-west coastline. Working in partnership with Lift Management, Chapman Freeborn’s Fort Lauderdale office responded immediately to the urgent charter request which was received during the holiday period. The team worked through the night to secure the aircraft and requisite permits for the operation, and the cargo was delivered to Port-of-Spain within 24 hours of the first call. Jack Burt, cargo charter specialist at Chapman Freeborn, said: “This was a time-critical charter operation which required close coordination between all of the parties involved. Our cargo team is proud to have been of assistance by reacting quickly to help the people of Trinidad and Tobago in their clean-up efforts.”
