Con-way Truckload, a full truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced a partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes program and its trucking industry technology partner, FASTPORT, to increase its number of veteran hires throughout 2015. "Partnering with FASTPORT and the Hiring Our Heroes program provides us with an avenue to help more veterans and their families find meaningful careers in an industry that needs them and values their experience," said Joseph M. Dagnese, president, Con-way Truckload. Today, approximately 16 percent of Con-way Truckload's employees are military service veterans, including members of the National Guard and Reserve, holding a variety of professional roles throughout the company. "We are thrilled that Con-way Truckload has joined the Trucking Industry Track and pledged to significantly increase their already large veteran employee base," said Eric Eversole, vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and executive director of Hiring Our Heroes. "Con-way Truckload has always been active in the veteran and reserve communities and partnering with FASTPORT will help us all find more veterans and transitioning service men and women more career opportunities in the trucking industry."  The Trucking Industry Track of Hiring Our Heroes assists veterans, transitioning service members and their spouses in finding careers in the trucking industry. It was established to address the industry's need for skills developed from all military backgrounds to fill over 100,000 open positions.
