Con-way Freight, a subsidiary of Con-way, Inc. announced that shippers in Mexico can now electronically contact any one of its six Con-way Mexico logistics centers to request a shipment pickup.

'We've offered electronic shipment pickup request in the U.S. and Canada since 1999 and with our expansion into Mexico last year this change is simply an extension of that capability. We know Mexican shippers want e-business convenience and con-way.com/freight is among the most advanced web sites in the industry when it comes to electronic commerce. All they need to do is access the Mexico pages on the site,' said David S. McClimon, president of Con-way Freight.

According to company officials, Mexican shippers can also utilize the web site to receive customer specific online intra Mexico and international rate quotes, track single or multiple shipments, calculate intra Mexico transit times and create online bills of lading and view proof of delivery documents. Shippers in the U.S. can also use the Mexico pages to move freight from Mexican origins to destinations within Mexico. Virtually all the Mexican pages and tools are available in Spanish as well as English. To access the new pickup request, shippers will need to click on the Mexico symbol on con-way.com/freight and then click on the Tools (Herramientas) option displayed on the Con-way Mexico page. The Pickup Request option will be the first function listed on the next page appearing.
